It gives me great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iași to the 16^th edition of Congressis, the International Congress for Medical Students and Young Doctors organized by the Medical Students’ Society Iasi.

The organizers of this Congress have had a vast and growing experience in the numerous previous editions, thus reaching a level of proficiency that makes the organization of this event flawless and the participation desirable.

The high scientific standard of the Congress has been noted in the previous editions and it is expectable to be on the same high rankings this year as well. This will be reached not only through a wide range of lectures and workshops from important personalities in the local, national and even international medical community, but also through free papers and posters presented by students and young doctors in a variety of domains.

The social aspect of the event has also been notable throughout the years and the Organizing Committee has invested efforts in providing a good relaxation manner, to compliment the dense scientific part.

Following tradition, Congressis 2019 has a motto which this year is “Lead your way to innovation” – in light of ongoing developments in the medical field, I consider it to be an adequate and exciting motto.
